A Manager/Leader wants to work with the team member whom he/she sees as the person taking responsibility. What I mean here is to make sure whatever work is being assigned to you, you take it & complete it with due diligence.

  • Planning & Prioritizing skills is something which will help in self-Management & also in the Work Management.

  • Being Proactiveness (foreseeing & planning ahead) is something which will keep you ahead in the game. Also, this makes you are been seen as a person, whom your seniors can depend upon.

  1. O - Openness to Feedback

  • Feedback should be considered as gifts not as a way of criticism. Although, what you do with the shared feedback is your choice. But be open & also ask for feedback. This way you will know what are you have been doing right & what all things can be improved/change.

  1. R - Have Realistic Expectations & also approach

  • Before you take offer or even decide to take offer, do some research & talk with the people who can suggest you the right guidance. A simplest process of knowing about the organization, work culture, your role and the future of your role is the must. This also helps in aligning your expectations with what organization is planning to offer.

  • Be realistic about the organization your join & also be practical in your approach. Don’t create a fancy world which in the reality might exist.

  • There should be a realistic thought process behind offer vs job role vs compensation, when you decide to join a particular organization.

  1. A – Understand & work on Appearance

  • Its very important to understand & work on appearance. Here I mean your professional Image. This is equally important to know. I am sure you want to be seen as professional & approachable personality in the work.

  1. T – Importance of Team Work

  • It is very important to know about Team Work in the workplace. Team work plays an important role for you as a new joiner/employee in any work set up.

  • You will work mostly in the team. So, understand the dynamics of people & also the right set of approaches to be followed.

  1. E - Understand Office Etiquettes (Emails, Meetings, Telephone & Cubical)

  • Office Etiquettes are the most important things to learn & really be cared about.
